今回からモノコックの製作に入ります。
モノコックは主にABS樹脂で構成されており、1/8スケールならではの大きさと迫力があります。まずは仮組みを行い、全体のバランスや各部の組み付け状態を確認しながら、修正が必要な箇所を洗い出していきます。
From this installment, work begins on the monocoque.
The monocoque is primarily made of ABS resin, and at 1/8 scale its size and presence are truly impressive. The first step is a full test assembly to evaluate the overall fit and proportions, while identifying any areas that require correction before moving on to the detailed work.
モノコックには随所に金属パーツが使用されており、リンクベースやバルクヘッドも金属製となっています。
樹脂パーツと金属パーツを組み合わせた構成により、高い剛性感と1/8スケールならではの重量感が感じられるキットとなっています。
The monocoque incorporates metal parts throughout its construction, with components such as the linkage bases and bulkheads also made from metal.
The combination of ABS resin and metal components gives the kit excellent rigidity and a substantial feel, emphasizing the impressive presence that is unique to a 1/8-scale model.
バルクヘッドの形状に問題があり、そのままではきれいに収まりません。
そこで金属部分を削って形状を修正し、全体のバランスを確認しながら取り付けを行いました。
The shape of the bulkhead was incorrect, preventing it from fitting properly in its original form.
To correct this, the metal part was carefully filed and reshaped before being installed, ensuring a proper fit and alignment.
フロントサスペンションのアーム類も、すべて金属製のパーツで構成されています。
キットではあらかじめ塗装されていますが、バリやパーティングラインが目立つうえ、経年変化による塗膜の浮きも見られます。そのため、塗装をすべて剥離し、下地処理を行った後に再塗装することにします。
The front suspension arms are also made entirely of metal.
Although the kit parts come pre-painted, mold flash and parting lines are quite noticeable, and the paint has also begun to lift in places due to age. For this reason, the original finish will be completely stripped away, the parts will be properly prepared, and then repainted.
ショックアブソーバーの取り付け方法が実車とは大きく異なっています（画像の赤丸部分）。
このままでは実車の構造を再現できないため、取り付け方法を見直し、一から製作し直すことにします。
The mounting method for the shock absorbers differs significantly from that of the real car (highlighted by the red circles in the photo).
As it does not accurately reproduce the actual suspension layout, the mounting arrangement will be redesigned and rebuilt from scratch.
シートも必要な加工を施したうえで取り付けました。
また、キットではシートベルトの取付金具が省略されているため、この部分も実車資料を参考にしながら自作して再現することにします。
The seat was also modified where necessary before being installed.
The kit does not include the seat belt mounting brackets, so these components will also be scratch-built using reference photos of the real car to achieve a more accurate representation.
