今回製作するのは、ROSSOの1/8スケール フェラーリ643（1991年 日本GP仕様）です。
大変お世話になっている岐阜県のM様からご依頼いただいたもので、キットの素性を活かしつつ、可能な限りの改修とディテールアップを施して仕上げていきます。
まずは、このフェラーリ643というマシンがどのような存在だったのか、簡単に振り返っておきます。
The subject of this build is the ROSSO 1/8 scale Ferrari 643 (1991 Japanese Grand Prix version).
This project was commissioned by Mr. M from Gifu, who has been a great supporter. While making the most of the kit’s original quality, I will carry out as many modifications and detail-up improvements as possible to complete the model.First, let’s briefly look back at what kind of machine the Ferrari 643 was.

フェラーリ643は、1991年シーズンにスクーデリア・フェラーリが投入したF1マシンで、シーズン前半に使用された641（F1-91）の発展型として、第7戦フランスGPから実戦投入されました。
設計はスティーブ・ニコルズを中心とした体制で行われ、フェラーリ伝統のV12エンジンを搭載した最後期のマシンのひとつです。
■■■ Ferrari 643 (Machine Overview) ■■■
The Ferrari 643 was a Formula 1 car introduced by Scuderia Ferrari for the 1991 season. It was developed from the 641 (F1-91), which was used in the early part of the season, and made its race debut at Round 7, the French Grand Prix.
The car was designed under the direction of Steve Nichols and was one of the last Ferrari machines to feature the team’s traditional V12 engine.
この643は、前年の641が持っていた高い戦闘力をベースにしながら、空力性能とシャシー剛性の向上を狙って開発されました。
しかし、シーズンを通して見ると圧倒的な成功を収めたマシンではないものの、伝統的なV12エンジンと90年代初頭の技術進化が交差する、非常に興味深い一台です。
日本GP仕様はシーズン終盤の完成度が反映された姿でもあり、「熟成されたが、時代の変化に追いつききれなかったフェラーリ」というストーリーを感じられる仕様でもあります。
模型としても、シンプルな中に造形美と時代性が詰まった題材なので、ディテールと質感表現を丁寧に行い、このマシンの魅力をしっかり再現したいと思っています。

The 643 was developed based on the strong performance of the previous year’s 641, with the aim of improving aerodynamic efficiency and chassis rigidity.
While it was not an overwhelmingly successful car over the course of the season, it remains a very interesting machine where Ferrari’s traditional V12 engine intersected with the technological evolution of the early 1990s.
The Japanese Grand Prix version reflects the level of refinement reached toward the end of the season, and tells the story of a Ferrari that had matured, yet could not fully keep pace with the changes of the era.
As a model, it is a subject that combines simplicity with sculptural beauty and period character. I will focus on carefully refining the details and surface finish to fully capture the appeal of this machine.
